Lynbrook Enrichment Programs

owl picOverview

Lynbrook Public Schools believes all learners have the ability to grow when presented with learning opportunities that appropriately challenge their skills and understanding. Towards that goal, the district is developing a two-tier system to enrich the learning experience for all students.

Tier I - Flight School

The first tier, Flight School, is available to all students in grades three, four, and five. A designated teacher will push into those classes on a rotating schedule to work alongside the classroom teacher to present high-interest units of study aligned to classroom goals. These units will feature hands-on learning experiences that foster the development of key 21st century skills such as collaboration and communication.

Tier II - Voyager Program

The second tier is a modified version of Lynbrook’s acclaimed Voyager Program. In that program, identified fifth grade students will have the opportunity to meet once a cycle with other Voyager students on their grade level in a newly designed learning space in West End Elementary School. Students from Marion Street and Waverly Park will be picked up from their home schools on their scheduled days and transported to West End to attend the program. School buses will transport the students back to their home schools for dismissal.

Fourth Grade - Any parent that would like their fourth-grade child to be assessed must notify the district by the final day of March.
