While the Lynbrook High School girls’ varsity basketball team was playing in their first-round playoff game against Island Trees, junior Kaitlyn Benedict broke a new school record.

Kaitlyn made eight three-pointers in a single game, a new record for the school. The former record was set in 1996. As a sophomore, Kaitlyn had tied the record for seven three-pointers in a game, which was only done once before in the 2005-06 season. At the March 13 board of education meeting, Kaitlyn was recognized by trustees and administrators for her achievement.
