Soon-to-be Lynbrook high schoolers get a preview for what’s next

Middle schoolers preparing for their transition to Lynbrook High School got their first experience of what the next phase of their educational career will look like on Jan. 20.
Lynbrook North and South middle school eighth graders gathered in the auditorium to hear from their incoming Principal Matthew Sarosy, as well as assistant principals Dr. Sheila Dempsey and Salvatore Brescia, who generated excitement and anticipation for the next school year. Guidance counselors, psychologists, and social workers outlined the social and emotional support services available to students. Department leaders highlighted engaging opportunities within their subject areas, including the cultural experiences offered through world language studies under Leonard Bruno. Interest peaked as music department leaders shared plans for an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
