LHS Chorus visits NYC for Broadway musical 'Ragtime'
On March 18, 60 students from the Lynbrook High School Chorus traveled to NYC to watch the hit Broadway musical, Ragtime. After eating lunch in Lincoln Center Plaza, students entered the magnificent Vivian Beaumont Theatre to watch the matinee performance. The gripping story and powerful vocals of Ragtime left many students in tears. Some also noted that characters and incidents in the show connected to their Social Studies curriculum, such as Booker T. Washington, Henry Ford, the union movement in America, the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, and the sinking of the Lusitania. Students were dazzled by the performances of Broadway stars like Joshua Henry and Cassie Levy, with many calling it the best Broadway show they had ever seen. #OwlProud #OwlLearns
