A rainbow of kindergartners move up in Lynbrook

With parents and loved ones cheering them on from the audience, the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center Class of 2026 moved up to first grade following their ceremony on June 24.
The stage at Lynbrook High School became a rainbow-colored display as kindergarten graduates donned their vibrant mortarboards. Classes rose to entertain with songs conducted by music teacher Lauren Behan, including “It’s a Small World,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “Rainbow Connection,” “Time to Say Goodbye” and “On My Way.” Members of the Kindergarten Parents’ Club thanked school staff for their leadership and presented a special honor for Principal Ellen Postman.
In a letter addressed to the graduates, Mrs. Postman wrote, “Remember to always believe in yourselves and approach each new experience with the same joy and wonder you brought to kindergarten.”
