Lynbrook Public Schools Voter Registration Information
Who Is Eligible to Vote?
1. U.S. Citizens
2. Over the age of 18
3. Who have resided in the School District for at least 30 days, and
4. Who are registered to vote.
Are You Registered?
If you are uncertain as to whether you are registered in the school
district and eligible to vote, call the district clerk at 516-887-6558
between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
If you are uncertain about whether you are registered for general
elections, call the Board of Elections in Mineola at 516-571-2411 or go
to
https://voterlookup.elections.state.ny.us/votersearch.aspx. This link will also indicate your polling location. If you are not
currently registered, you may register in the office of the district
clerk, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., up to and including
Wednesday, May 9, 2018, or register with the Board of Registration of
the Lynbrook Union Free School District on the registration day to be
held Wednesday, May 15, from 12-9 p.m. at Lynbrook High School.
Do You Need an Absentee Ballot?
Pursuant to Section 2018-a of the Education Law of the State of New
York, absentee ballots may be cast. Information pertaining to
applications for absentee ballots may be obtained by calling the office
of the district clerk at 516-887-6558. An application for an absentee
ballot must be received by the district clerk at least seven days before
the bond referendum if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the
day before the bond referendum if the ballot is to be issued to the
voter in person. Absentee ballot applications are available in the
district clerk’s office or may be downloaded here. Please return the completed application to: District Clerk, Lynbrook UFSD, 111 Atlantic Avenue, Lynbrook, NY 11563.
INFORMACIÓN PARA VOTANTES DEL DISTRITO
DISTRITOS DE ELECCIÓN ESCOLAR
DISTRITO ELECTORAL ESCOLAR NO. 1 será toda esa porción del Distrito Escolar de Lynbrook (UFSD) comenzando en la línea central de Sunrise Highway y continuando hasta el límite más septentrional del distrito. Los votantes que residen en el Distrito Electoral Escolar N ° 1 emitirán su voto en la Escuela Intermedia Norte (NORTH MIDDLE SCHOOL) en Merrick Road.
DISTRITO ELECTORAL ESCOLAR NO. 2 será toda la porción del Distrito Escolar de Lynbrook que se extiende al sur de la línea central de Sunrise Highway e incluye toda el área al sur hasta la línea central de Scranton Avenue. Los votantes que residen en el Distrito Electoral Escolar No. 2 emitirán su voto en la Escuela Secundaria de Lynbrook (LYNBROOK HIGH SCHOOL) en Union Avenue.
DISTRITO ELECTORAL ESCOLAR NO. 3 será toda la porción del Distrito Escolar de Lynbrook en la línea central de Scranton Avenue y hasta el límite sur del Distrito. CLASIFICACIÓN DE LOS VOTANTES EN LAS REUNIONES DEL DISTRITO ESCOLAR BAJO LA SECCIÓN 2012 DE LA LEY DE EDUCACIÓN:
Una persona tendrá derecho a votar en cualquier reunión de la escuela para la elección de los funcionarios del distrito escolar, y sobre todos los demás asuntos que puedan presentarse en dichas reuniones, para lo cual debe:
- Ser ciudadano de los Estados Unidos.
- Tener 18 años de edad.
- Ser residente del distrito escolar por un período de 30 días antes de la reunión en la que él o ella se ofrece para votar.
- Inscribirse en persona para una elección escolar o general.
ELECCIONES DE LA JUNTA DE EDUCACIÓN: Las peticiones para los aspirantes a candidatos para servir en la Junta de Educación deben presentarse 30 días antes de la elección.
