If you need to register or re-register your child for school during the mandated school closings, please download the appropriate packet, complete the forms and gather all necessary documents. If documents cannot be notarized at this time, we will accept documents without notarization and we will request notarization at a later date.

New Registration: Either mail the application and documents to the Administration Building, Registrar Office at 111 Atlantic Avenue, Lynbrook, NY 11563 or deliver the paperwork in the locked mailbox located in front of the Administration Building.

Re-Registration (Current grades 5 and 8): Mail the re-registration paperwork to your child’s current school.


Registration Information

A child may be registered for kindergarten in September if he or she will be 5 years old on or before December 1. Proof of age must be presented upon registration. A birth certificate or passport is acceptable proof of age.
Kindergarten registration is held at the Administration Building in January and February of the year prior to entrance. Dates are published in advance in the local newspapers, as well as in the Lynbrook School News and at Registration also takes place at the Central Registrar in the Atlantic Avenue Building by appointment.
Parents/guardians are required to present a birth certificate at the time of registration. For children who are not U.S. citizens, a passport is acceptable. All documents should be in English. 
Proof of residence, a School District #20 tax bill, must be presented at time of registration along with various other document available in the registration packet. 
It is mandatory that all children have a complete physical examination before September. The school district requires proof of these examinations, proof of immunization and the medical history of each child.
