Theater Program
A rich theatrical tradition in every Lynbrook school
Lynbrook schools have a rich theatrical history. Every elementary and secondary school produces a high-quality musical, and Lynbrook High School also presents a spring play. All productions are extracurricular, rehearse after school, and are open to every student, whether they want to perform, play in the pit, or work behind the scenes.
Theater Across the Grades
Elementary and Middle Schools
Every elementary and middle school stages its own musical each year. These productions use the "Kids" and "Junior" versions of well-known shows, adapted so younger performers can take on full musical theater experiences.
Lynbrook High School
- Fall musical: a full-length production accompanied by a live student pit orchestra
- Spring play: a dramatic or comedic play staged each spring
Ways to Get Involved
There is a place in the theater program for every student. Choose the role that fits your interests, or try something new.
On Stage
Audition for a role as a lead, a supporting character, or a member of the ensemble.
In the Pit
Musicians can audition to perform in the live pit orchestra for the high school musical.
Backstage and Tech
Join the crew that runs lighting, sound, scene changes, and everything behind the curtain.
Set Design
Help design, build, paint, and decorate the sets that bring each show to life.
