Lynbrook UFSD Reopening Plan 2020



  • To safely return staff and students to the Lynbrook school buildings
  • Maintain social distancing to the best of our ability as per the CDC Guidelines
  • Establish protocols for student arrival, student dismissal, lunch, physical education, and handling of student materials in conjunction with the Curriculum Committee
  • Revise cleaning standards and allocation of personnel for schools
  • Determine school provided PPE for staff, students, and visitor
  • Determine feasibility of the after-school activity programs
  • Maintain flexibility throughout the process to incorporate new guidelines


Task Actions:

  • Identify classroom capacity in each building
  • Determine the educational program to be implemented – adapt to the program
  • Continue with the installation of polycarbonate sheeting in “key” areas
  • Increase access to hand-washing stations
  • Determine reasonable lunch/recess accommodations
  • Remove “clutter” and plush items from classrooms
  • Design one directional hallways and staircases – post all signage
  • Create list expectations for students, staff, transportation, administration, Board of Education, and visitors
