It was the grand finale for students of the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center as they will soon rise to first grade following their moving up ceremony on June 25.

Kindergartners donned their rainbow-colored mortarboards and made their way across Union Avenue to Lynbrook High School. Directed by music teacher Lauren Behan, students sang several songs, including “It’s a Small World,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” and “Time to Say Goodbye.” In a letter addressed to her students, Principal Ellen Postman reflected on their time together.

“Watching you grow has been one of the greatest joys of this year,” she said. “Your laughter has filled our hallways, your artwork has brightened our walls, and your hugs have warmed our hearts. Each one of you is unique, special and ready for the exciting adventures that lie ahead in first grade.”
