The Lynbrook community’s annual tradition continued at North Middle School on March 11 as the ALS Ride for Life Foundation visited the school to usher the start of their fundraising campaign.

Each year, the Lynbrook Schools community fundraises in support of the Ride for Life Foundation’s mission to promote research of treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, a fatal motor neuron disease. Ride for Life volunteer Glenn Baldwin spoke with North Middle students about the disease and the struggles of living with ALS, inspiring students to help find a cure. The audience was also joined via video by ALS patient Paul Weisman who thanked the community for their support. Last year, North Middle was named a Lou Gehrig Legacy School for their participation in the annual campaign.
